About
Our Philosophy
At Sheltering Oak, our mission is to support mental health by connecting people with the tools and knowledge they need to live a more fulfilling life.
We have seen profound healing from both traditional and modern forms of medicine, but the same treatments don’t work for everyone. That is why each treatment plan is individualized. Whether you prefer natural medicine, medication, or both, we are here for you.
Meet Dr. Derickson
Dr. Lila Derickson is a naturopathic physician. In her practice, she addresses both the symptoms and causes of mental health conditions with botanical medicine, nutrition, lifestyle approaches, counseling, and prescribing medication if needed.
She primarily works with adults with ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression. She welcomes people of all shapes and sizes, and approaches treatments from a Health At Every Size (HAES)-informed, weight-neutral perspective.
Dr. Derickson earned her degree in naturopathic medicine at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR. After graduating, she was awarded a position at the Amenda Clinic through NUNM’s competitive residency program. She has also completed a Master of Science in Integrative Mental Health, a program that has greatly increased her skillfulness in mind-body medicine techniques.
In her free time she can be found curled up with a book, taking walks in the park, or trying to get her black cat, Bagheera, to show up properly in pictures.
